It seems like misskey is the closest thing to becoming a replacement at this moment (I don't see anyone using Pawoo really) although I still don't fucking understand exactly-how that site works as it's kind of an aggregator/overlay for other accounts sometimes it seems, and also it's really slow or buggy or down a lot (typical Japanese web design lol).
