As far as the community at large is concerned, the person that conversation revolved around seemingly remains in good standing with Mikeneko, and in terms of push back against him from within the community, all of it stemmed from the relevant person being vocal on his stance during a few key circumstances.
"Of his ilk" implies that there is an ilk, that the person is representative of some sort of trait-based grouping, which makes no sense for any overly unique characteristics or circumstances.
They were not claiming to mock a black sheep, they were claiming that all unicorns are black sheep. No other standout characteristic survives occams razor.
