Pretty much JP auditions for people who are not already streamers.
You audition, if they see potential they give you a course on streaming, singing, dancing, etc.
If after that they think you are good you join Nijisanji.

They're setting up a scout program and they'll train people who will then graduate to become full fledged vtubers. I believe the current applications in that tweet are for the people managing the program and not to enter the program.

I hope this doesn't professionalize them too much. Considering Mito is one of their most famous livers and the nature of Nijisanji livers in general I don't think they should take the Hololive route.

I imagine this is more taking the kinds of people they'd hire anyway and making sure they can actually stream by the time they put them out there than anything. (As well as giving them a chance to weed out some extreme menhera early on instead of wasting a live2D on them.)

I feel like something like this had to happen eventually. There is only so long these companies like Nijisanji and Hololive can just keep getting talents from niconico and slapping avatars on them or hiring utaite and hoping they turn into good streamers or whatever else they do. Eventually in the long run they will need to make new talents for the industry.

Well, it wasn't gonna happen with Hololive, considering how the execs are pocketing all the money while giving pittance to the girls. Nijisanji will be controlling the narrative of what is a vtuber from now on, will be interesting to see the repercussions in a couple of years.
