Not at all, the quality of the performances, the lack of variety and no memorable or unique moments are also issues that should be addressed in future concerts, camera work was awful but it was not the only issue of it.

I tried to suspend my disbelief, but it was hard when these moments kept popping up.
The songs were good, and the production behind them was good, but anytime the camera panned out over the audience, or worse, focused on the audience, it took me out of it.

The section I was in was definitely going ballistic. I have no idea if there were sound issues for people watching it online but people around me were popping off so hard that it was infectious. I was exhausted afterwards and my throat is dying.

Well, I wasn't there in person, so if that's the case, they may have mixed the audio in a way that muted the crowd. Which makes sense when the talents are on stage singing (you want to hear them over the crowd), but during the MC sections, when the point is to hear the crowd riled up?
It's dead silent in the VOD.

No that was loud af, especially during Psycho. I am genuinely surprised when I hear people describe Calli telling us to chill and we werent making any sound, again this was the section I was in though.
I will add that I was also at the Lazulight performance and crowd energy was also high but the wota chants were far more unified.
At the fan meetup before the Hololive thing I clearly remember learning wota chants for Hinotori but Kiara sang Sparks lol. I think I was one of the few who knew double clapping for SSS was a thing.

I'm pretty sure he's referring to the Free part of the concert, though "dead silent" is a bit of an exaggeration. You can clearly hear rumblings from the crowd during the MC Segments in spite of the audio repression, while most of the crowd audio seems sourced from around the first floor at least.

i feel like "cannot" is a big word, it just takes time and the japs didn't put as much effort into exporting their shit as the koreans did with kpoop.
more people are starting to get into it through vtubers but it's still new. it's better than it used to be though, and seems like it's going better for vtubers than it did for irl idols as i've attended j-idol concerts in the west with much worse audiences.

Japanese idols are supported by a culture that has developed over decades. Most ironic weebs don't care for idols and they will get a mixed response in the western market. That only becomes more of an issue when at least half of the holoEN talents don't want to be idols.

Mid to bad setlist. Terrible idea to do songs people don't expect or have never heard before to a live crowd for the first time.

I have a friend that went to the live concert. When he got back, I asked if he wanted to watch the SPWN broadcast and there was nothing he wanted to see again.

If their objective was to leave me wanting more and going to youtube to listen to the stuff I ACTUALLY wanted to hear, it worked.

Unrelated, but their merchandise model is terribly flawed. There are plenty of people, myself included, that would like to buy merch, but they make it all limited. Why would they cap the amount of money that they could potentially make? Things like T-shirts are very easily made-to-order, and they could sell them for $20 and make bank, but they don't.

The only incredible singers in HoloEN are Bae and Mori.(and Mori would rather 'rap' than sing.) Kiara is okay, but a far better dancer than a singer. They all have skills/talents, but not all of those talents are within the performing arts.
