Same. I just wanna know how are they really like, not through clips or anons rrats here. Maybe someday. If only they used romaji, it would be unironically way easier. It's probably unfair for me to say since I don't know much about Jap, but it seems like very simple language with complicated learning curve. As opposed for example Russian, it's a complex language, but starting learning curve is easy because of good letter system. I'm probably biased though, but I thought a lot about it lately...comparing the two

Lets be real, having a real time translation isn't the same as watching anime with subs. When you are reading live translation with delay you can feel something is off, atleast thats how it is for me when I tried watching someone with TL. Unless we will have some sort of technological jump where you can just put a chip like In Matrix and learn everything, we will have to cope with clips or learn the language.

That was only two weeks ago. I lost faith in her last year because she just mentally checked out on us, admitted things had changed, but refused to explain anyway. Now she's turned around back again pretending nothing happened. That muting incident is the least of my concerns with her at this point. It's just an easy target for tourists.

If you live in burgerland you don't ever really need anything beyond english to get by, and a lot of school districts have trouble supporting their language-learning programs. It's tough these days to see any foreign language education before high school, either, even though starting earlier is shown to work best. A lot of americans are actively hostile to the idea of other languages being spoken here in the first place, so you've got that in the mix as well.
