However, it really depends what she said and how it translates, because in English "doctor" doesn't strictly mean M.D - she could have gotten a PhD in something, a lot of things actually. Your average postdoc position actually may not pay that well, and could perhaps be outmatched by a successful chuuba. So being a postdoc in flipland, probably actually is peanuts vs her chuuba money she makes now, so she'd I guess rather just keep doing this even if it's just a small trickle of what the income potentially could have been if NijiEN was more successful and/or she didn't shoot herself in the foot with shit like the secret GC stream. She must have a PhD in being a dumbass or something.
Also there's a reason a doctorate may not translate over to the West, if the definition of what that work actually-entailed doing to receive it isn't considered equivalent to what a US or European university would say the qualifications were. It could be that work that's good for like a Master's in the West done in like 2 years could make someone a "doctor" somewhere else in some subjects - whereas a US PhD is like 5-7 years, med school is also 5 years etc.
