How the fuck do you guys watch twitch? It's fucking UNBEARABLE. Fucking ads BEFORE I can even see the stream, then literally 5 minutes straight of ads during the stream every hour or something. Literal cancer. Adblock doesn't even fucking work it just gives you this stupid blue/purple screen telling you the stream is finishing up ads.

It's pretty bad. Ublock doesn't actually block twitch ads because they are put in the stream itself. You can watch VODs and ublock will block the ads on that since they are not in-stream. If you want to block instream ads you generally need to use either a proxy service such as TTVLOL pro or a VPN and set your country to one where Twitch are not allowed to give you ads. Hungary and some other EU countries tend to work.
This is just how twitch is. It's easily the worst streaming service available at the moment, but people continue to stream there because it has better discoverability compared to Youtube for live streaming.

I unironically have an easier time blocking ads on mobile. I just use AdAway (vpn version, unrooted). And for the rare cases where an ad slips through, I close the app, reopen the stream, and immediately put it in picture-in-picture mode.

For desktop I use TTV LOL PRO. I set up a proxy on a $1 VPS located in Russia and I never get ads.
For mobile I use a pi-hole but it's a constant tug of war between the ad lists and Twitch. You have to stay on top of updating your gravity.
