Hololive as a whole is at its best when large-scale events are happening. Be it a company-wide tournament series, offcollabs or concerts, when multiple talents join together to create content, that's when the idol aspects of Hololive shine the most and puts them ahead of the competition. I can forgive ID since they don't have the resources to make said events happen on their own (but they still do a lot of bonding through constant offcollabs and they are also eager to join as participants for others), but EN is severely lacking in that. Think about how yesterday Kiara wanted to hold a big Jackbox night for her birthday with the maximum of 8 participants but only 6 members showed up and one left halfway through, or the upcoming Getting Over It tournament which is just CouncilRyS once again. These events pale in comparision to what Hololive became famous for since they lack willing participants, not to mention the lack of organizers means they are few and far between. You have Bae, Kiara and Mori working on events, but the three of them alone can't work tirelessly every month to make things happen in EN. The song output is also their responsibility for the branch if you exclude IRyS since she's hired specifically by Cover to sing and she largely lacks input. For these reasons I want EN3 to happen, especially if it's 6/7 members like some speculate based on the teaser from CtW, but I'd just take even a single new member.
But.
There's absolute no guarantee that new hires would go that way. The three members I've mentioned have the lowest CCVs in the branch, which suggests that viewers are not that interested in large scale events and they encourage the talents just streaming and putting out easy content to consume. If the theoretical new hires also go towards the easy way, they're truly redundant as it's not like HoloEN is doomed like many anons on this board would suggest and there's more than enough content for a casual streamwatcher already. Not to mention that even with their current members, they can make big events happen like CtW was where every fanbase ate good enough and if some of the more passive members would take on organizing events, they could thrive just as they are.
