Threads is the most corpo friendly alternative at the moment, and the most active posts right now are from brand accounts.

However, Threads is also the only app with an English interface seeing a large JP userbase fleeing twitter. We live in interesting times.

(On a side note, fujo twitter is annoyed because no app aside from twitter allows NSFW posting and that's probably the main reason twitter is not dead yet.)

Most streaming/video sites are huge moneysinks because of the completely unregulated storage and bandwidth. About 720,000 hours of video is uploaded to YouTube every day.

If Cover made their own site, they would have a very specific amount of people capable of uploading videos and streaming, which is a lot more manageable. Compared to what YT deals with, it's literally nothing.
