>>53109498As a regular of /vsinger/:
- Suisei can power sing, and is the most common name mentioned. Her weakness is really just one: lack of smooth transition between notes.
- Gura can sing softly with her vibrato and is suited to jazz / lounge music. Her weakness is the lack of consistency and practice. Baka Mitai and Lemon seem to be sung by 2 different people.
- Irys has perfect pitch control, but weak higher notes (not fixed in her studio covers).
- Azki has good techniques and a very soft voice, but is reluctant at holding notes (which is fixed in her studio covers, where she is great).
- Risu, when she drops the squeaky voice, is both talented and unpolished. Maybe not enough power or vibrato for some people, but still pleasant.
- Moona is also talented but more unpolished. Has a lot of errors in live singing, but does some variations not seen from others (e.g. Unravel).
- Sora is okay when she does opera or similar kinds of music, otherwise her high notes are just nasal.
- Watame, Towa, Mio, Ayame, Shion sound better in the studio than when they are live (Azki is also like this, to be fair). Pitch control during live singing is a common problem among them. I can pull out timestamps if you want but I don't want to be a jerk here if you enjoy their better songs. Among this pack I'd say Watame is the most well-practiced, but they can all shine with good studio covers.
- Rikka, Izuru, Astel are good if you watch the guys. Better than most of the girls, even.
I can't recommend that people listen to just hololive, as none of them compare to the best names of /vsinger/. Or viewed otherwise, for smaller vtubers, no one would care if you're not substantially better than the average holos.
Finally, I will note the fact that there are many hipsters who find it cool to dismiss Gura because she is popular. That is cringe. Gura's style of jazz and lounge music is her own niche, and her best songs (like Titanium) are not covered by other holos (or even most vsingers). Variety is always a plus.
