>>53270566yes in the sense that she took the meaning of "friend" way too literally. we're all random people on the internet meeting in a public space, of course it'll never be like the 1-1 direct sense of friendship and she went way too far explaining something everyone already intuitively gets.
Or well, besides groomers, they want to actually-be real friends/relations with chuubas - but Holos aren't groomer targets, specifically because they don't just laze around in a discord chatting with their top simps/mods etc when not streaming, and they have such a large cloud of fans that no one can really stick out too much generally.
Part of the thing about idols/idoldom is they are supposed to just be on a pedestal above the fans, they're not there mingling with them in their downtime like whatever twitch 2views. Being more hidden/mysterious actually helps build the mystique of celebrity - people have been remarking there are few if any movie stars anymore in the same sense there used to be up to the 90s/00s, because movies are more about attracting people for IP/franchises than relying on stars. Part of that is because in the age of social media, most famous actors are talking/posting about boring every day things and that just makes them less interesting seeing they aren't the fantastical amazing people the industry drums them up to be. I think Fauna is aware of that (vaguely) and wanted to express that she wants to keep that mystique/separation to keep her image alive, but had no fucking idea how to express this without coming off like a patronizing schoolteacher scolding a 5 year old.
