>>53403721The whole "buy an ad" thing is just a crappy deflection for "I don't want to be reminded that there are things outside the corpo sphere."
Sure, a lot of them suck, in fact I'd say most indies suck goat balls. But some are good, OP is an example even.
There is something to be said of the notion that corpos filter out the trash and bring you the top quality, sort of like pro league sports vs small corpos being like college teams and indies being like, high school tier expectations. There are a lot of indies I've tried and thought "nah I just can't spend my time on this shitty voice/dead air/uninteresting commentary" etc. However some indies are really good, and an entertaining indie who streams a lot is probably going to deliver similar levels of "I really-actually like to sit down and watch this daily" content as a corpo. Despite circling around mostly-mediocre quality chuubas, /lig/ as a thread itself, is so damn pleasant relatively speaking because there isn't really anything to be tribal over, it's an example of what this board as a whole could have been without corpos. People just actually-ignore the chuubas they don't care for because there is no penalty for doing so, they have no obligation to try to go defend some dumb shit someone did/said just because she's in a corpo and you don't want a bad rap on the company to tarnish your oshi's image by proxy. You want to be on the "winning" side etc. With indies there is not as much definition between winner/loser because they are catering to different niches generally and all the viewership indicates is some styles (coomerbait, loud screechy types, chill types etc) are more popular than others.
