Learn to fucking draw, doing what you're describing is shit a lot of artists do and it's piss easy to do both on purpose and by accident. Honestly it's very likely an artistic choice, the back end of the dress that's seen through the transparency has a very deliberate line showing it's outline while the rest of that part of the dress you're obsessing over transitions into a solid color. You literally just set that part of the dress as it's own layer, then take a soft brush, then erase some of the color so the layer below (the part of the dress you can see) is visible. Pic related.
