>>536394I don't think that she could have continued as Haachama after graduating Highschool and returning to Japan. Haachama, while definitely fun to watch, would be a hard act to keep up while having to interact normally with coworkers and family on a day to day basis. Haa-san is a smart girl though and knows that she can't just revert back to the pre-Haachama character. Too many people have jumped on in the last 6ish months and expect Haachama content. But also she seems like she was having a lot of fun, and a high creative output with Haachama.
So Haato needed to find a way to be able to have more normal content without loosing her Haachama mojo, and, because she's having to justify this to an audience, she has to do it publicly. Stitching her ego (haato's head), to her id (haachama's body) is pretty solid way to symbolically represent what she's going through. Doing that through an unnerving multipart series with messy loose ends is a great way to show to the skeptics and new-fans that the sorts of content they like isn't going away just changing. Same energy, different final product.
I'm honestly impressed with how well. Haa-san has executed this whole thing.
