As time goes by, a lot of non Americans realize how ridiculous American "cultural" standards are. Not everyone can integrate Rock, Pop and Rap in their culture. Not everyone can eat American food. Not everyone can accept what American thinks as normal.
It got worse as America trying to push the sexual culture to foreigners and it only have minimum impact.
The woke culture is the straw that broke the camel's back. Conservative countries get yelled at because they disprove of woke culture (with exception for Saudi but because US still need oil)
Meanwhile Japan came out with pop culture that's pretty neutral and easily consumed by many countries. Not trying to push agenda and actually fun. Pretty much like US in the 80s and 90s.
USA is pissed. Suddenly their vassal country is getting more attention than them. Hell, now said vassal country is on their doorstep selling their culture to American public and they LOVE it. Suddenly their own culture (Comic, movies, musics) start losing relevancy. They no longer able to use their propaganda tool properly. No more movies about how great America is, no song to show how great American hedonistic lifestyle anymore. Their comic no longer able to preach to the children anymore.
And the worst part, rather than bettering themselves, they keep blaming other people for their wrongdoings. Suddenly Japan is problematic because of "Idol culture" when in reality there are more stalkers and celebrity killing in US. Suddenly Japanese games are "Too white" when US shoving diversity on games that's unnecessary. Slumping movie sales are blamed on "The right made us look bad!" even when it's already proven again and again that people still go to movie when the movie is actually good and fun.
US is like Rome. Rather than a huge downfall, it's more like a slow death.
