>>53738902A streamer makes a Discord to "interact with her fans". Only a handful of the regular viewers join. They feel special and form a clique. This clique starts trying to influence the streamer directly, to be closer to her and get attention. Some of them might be raised to mods after months of brownnosing.
Regular viewers start to take note of this behavior in regular streams and start feeling like second-class citizens. The streamer tends to only interact with the clique now. Regular viewers start leaving. Streamer gets upset, and is comforted by her Discord clique.
At the final stages, the clique either eats itself alive or it ends up in a stalemate until the streamer's graduation because of low numbers. The ultimate goal of a groomer is always to make it to the "meet IRL" stage, but this seldom happens. Doesn't stop them from trying though.
Moral of the story: Don't start official Discord groups. It always results in cancer. If fags actually wanna hang out with fellow fans and jerk each other off, they can form their own unofficial channels.
(Note: Unofficial channels may still attempt to groom by coordinating in chat, but they usually don't get very far unless it's a small streamer and they outnumber the normal viewers.)
