/vt/ embraced the astroturfed magging meme because Tempus was debuting at the same time as ILUNA and tribalist sentiments trumped the disinterest in homos. In hindsight, that was a mistake and the enemy within was more dangerous than the enemy outside.

Everybody assumed Tempus would stay in their own bubble because there was no way they'd be stupid enough to interact with the girls. So it was easy to have fun with the magging meme and view Tempus hype as something harmless. Then of course they didn't stay in their own bubble, they spammed intergender collabs and crippled the entire EN branch as a result. Lesson learned. Never support male vtubers. Always greet them with blistering hostility.

I was lead astray. Before Tempus debuted I never thought I'd watch a male streamer--but I ended up really enjoying Vesper. I fell into the trap.
