What kind of person does vtubing even attract? What is the appeal? I honestly do not understand. I don't even understand why people enjoy human streamers, let alone vtubers. Can someone enlighten me?

interacting with humans is too painful but i still like being around people and watching others have fun with each other where i can self insert without having to constantly stress
niji feels like a genuine friend group i love their collabs and i enjoy watching and having someone give reactions + chats reactions to a lore heavy game more than playing it all on my own
the vtuber aspect just guarantees their more interested into dweeb things than your average streamer so i don’t have to watch streamer #45 swear off all dweeb games
plus elira and sonny are cute that’s the biggest part

Me personally? I like the Vtubers I like because it feels uncomplicated, compared to life and the pain I've felt in this life, I can type a joke in chat and get a laugh, I can donate and feel appreciated, or I can just leave them on while I work or do something boring, and the avatars just make things simple compared to IRL streamers, I don't want to know there real names I don't want to know their faces, I don't care enough for that, and they look like anime girls sometimes with big boobs and sometimes with no boobs, that helps out too, so yeah I like Vtubers, and if you don't I don't care, more for me

Assuming you are really a tourist, unironically yes
One of /vt/ major problem is that the catalog is abused by some twitter accounts and drama youtubers as a content farm as they make entire videos or tweets with opening "controversial threads" and screencapping it, they have been caught legit botting multiple times already but mods do fucking shit and a janny is 90% confirmed to be part of the staff of one of these channels
