>>53830040>>53830795>>53831282All characters have a bit of the actor that plays them, just look at how wildly doctor who seasons varies in tone despite being /technically/ the same show
Any streamer is putting on a facade, nobody acts on the internet how they would act IRL towards friends(well some do but they get become lolcows/forgotten real quickly)
The difference is, with a vtuber, there is a particular focus on escapism, which means a certain degree of detachment from reality has always been expected, I mean, nobody is watching anime girl avatars to be reminded of how things are going with work/family/frens
That would make a clear case for vtubers being actors and fleshtubers just entertainers, right?
No.
See, the thing is, many flesh(or nocam) streamers have admitted to have a general outline, if not outright scripts, of what topics they expect to bring up, talk over a stream, does reading a script in front of a camera makes you an actor?
At the same time some chuubas, lets take as an example gwar goombus, the embodyment of "head empty, shark cute", who will go on wild tangents off chat and give people ADHD by osmosis in her chat, is she an actor? Does acting like a retard and making weird sounds in front of a camera make you an actor?
Let's go even further, are journalists actors? They have a behavior they are expected to follow in front of a camera, but nobody would rightfully call actors, right?
So in the end, don't be a pendantic faggot and stop trying to categorize everything, chuubas are chuubas, they are meant to act like chuubas, if they act like something other than chuubas what are they?
