This is similar to saying that Canadians and Americans have more in common than not, or that Argentines and Nigerians have a lot in common, or that the Spanish and Portuguese have a lot in common. Or that even Ukraine and Russia are more similar than different. You have cracked the code that countries from the same civilization/cultural group can exist concurrently without being under the same government.
However because Big China has proven they're assholes, it's not in anyone's interest for them to become bigger and more powerful.
