They mostly do duo streams, but occasionally solo streams which will makw their fanbase split between the two but still keep the overall group of them together watching most of both vtubers content anyways. As long as they aren't salty faggots about nothing (re: the other getting bigger turnouts on their solo streams), it'll be fine because they still earn miney collectively between the two of them. It's even better because if one is sick or busy with something personal, the other can just take that time to get in solo streams for their set of fans in the combined group.
Aki from GGN was usually celebrated/more prefered than Mako, but they still did just fine balancing that.
