- If you're too small, you won't attract anyone.
- If you're too big, you only attract people who put money and fame before everything else.
Hololive had the advantage of reaching some kind of critical mass while being just a technology company, having Sora, and then hiring gen0 individually. Because vtubing wasn't that popular yet, they were able to attract people who really were into the hobby itself.
Now they're way too big so this won't happen anymore.
