NTA and also not Connor, but here's my issue with NOT: they don't have a legacy at all, or at least not a legacy that can serve as an example for Advent to reproduce or try to overcome.
You see, Hololive is undeniably the biggest, most famous vtuber agency, the one that sits on the golden throne and everyone tries to be in its graces or they try and push it off from there. Anyone, who gets in, even the least watched indonesian members, are very well off at the very least and the top are most certainly set for a life by now. The reason for that is that there's always something going on in Hololive, something that leaves a legacy behind. Be it a concert, a birthday 3D, new music release, a gaming tournament, some insane stream idea, sufferkino content, or a collab never seen before, you can follow the box and you'll be able to say: "I was there when X happened and it was glorious". And the best thing is that for many of these events, the talents themselves come up with the ideas and they have a vision on how they want things to happen, without the unpleasant odor of a soulless corporate director sweating behind the talents.
And here comes the problem: Fauna, Mumei and Kronii are merely passengers on the hype train and they never, ever take the lead. Sure, they have decent regular content, especially Fauna is in high regard with that, but it's never something that makes them, or Hololive itself stand out. Compare them to Myth: Gura has the largest channel by far and her merch sells an insane amount, she's an insane asset to the brand. Mori, as much as I don't like her content, has sat down on her ass and fucking grinded out a major label contract and has more original songs to her name than anyone else in the company, with well-known artists and connections that guarantee the continued interest towards her. She collabed with One Piece, one of the biggest media brands in the entire world, for fuck's sake. Ame, when the coof lockdown took away Myth's opportunity to have proper 3D content, took matters into her hand and created an alternative, which slowly improved, to the point where she has her own 3D mocap studio she built by her own hands. Kiara, despite being the least popular member of her branch, has very memorable songs to her name, is working on an album, has dreams of making a sololive one day, has one of the longest running shows in Hololive to her name, an invaluable asset whenever a cross-branch representative is needed and responsible for half of the entire branch's collabs alone. Ina's presence has motivated countless artists to improve and don't give up their ambitions, even if she herself has not much ambition, while also proving that you can be family friendly and still entertaining and nobody has to hide parts of her content if one wants to show her off. In comparision to that, while Bae tries to also have her own impact with more or less success, the rest just sit on their thumbs and stream in a cozy fashion. If that's all your ambition, you really don't need to join Hololive, many indies and other corpo members make a good living doing just that. Sure, you could argue that they have made many highlights and memes that have stuck around, but the amount of work they put into those don't even come close to what was needed for the abovementioned feats.
And the worst part is that they don't even have ambitions to change that. Kronii had her voice acting ambitions, on which she never capitalized. Mumei still has stage fright whenever she has to sing in front of an audience, and Fauna is deathly afraid of branching outside of her gen, to the point where her two year anniversary is nearing and she still lacks many one on one collabs with Myth members. We're talking about five talents in two years, not much. Seeing that stagnation just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, even if I enjoy some of their content, and I don't even mind Kronii collabing with Tempus members, for instance.
TL;DR: they barely create anything memorable and Hololive is not about just streaming video games like they have been doing for two years.
