>>5471209Being married to my job for the past 10 years, the only social interaction I have is through there and can only relate this through a work-related anecdote.
My best friend at work told me she was leaving after spending like 5 years together, racing/competing for internal promotions. She said it wasn't because of any one specific person, but because she didn't like the direction corporate was shifting, so she was jumping ship. Every day leading up to her goodbye party felt like an entire month, with time slowing to a crawl. Her last day came and went, and the next day when I went to work... everything was exactly the same, minus having my friend there. Everyone still went about their business and the world kept moving.
It's going to hurt at first, but July 2nd will come around and we'll see that nothing has really changed besides no longer having her here with us. We'll all slowly move on. Occasionally we'll remember something about her and it'll suck, but the world will keep spinning.
