We're now in an era where almost everybody has tried being a vtuber, and many have given up on it. We're now in an era where Nijisanji keeps churing out new waves of vtubers, and they keep graduating, but Anycolor's stonks keep rising up because its a tech company that doesn't care for its vtubers, no matter how talented they are. We are now in an era where small corpos have managed to put up fierce competition. There's Pippa on Phase Connect, there's Kson on VshojJP, and there's IdolCorp with the literal ((((them)))) money. On top of all that. Cover is spending their money on crap like HoloEarth. Which is a guaranteed money sink but, if they can make an MMO their fans will actually waste their money in, why not take advantage of it?
So no, Cover is playing it safe. It took them a while before they released EN3, and they're still testing out the waters.
