he's basically the complete opposite of tarzan
anyways, he and jane are castaways and tarzan helps them out but then are saved by a ship
tarzan learns how to be like the other white people from a french sailor and eventually travels to the US to find jane where he learns she's to be engaged with clayton
the french guy helps him discover his true identity but tarzan elects to keep it a secret for jane's happiness, because he's literally a savage out of place in proper society that tries to strangle someone within minutes of reuniting with her and they both know that societal expectations mean that she cant just tell clayton who is by all accounts a proper guy, to fuck off because the jungleman showed up and flexed his muscles.
at least until the second book which is when a bunch of crazy pulpy gonzo shit happens and then ends with jane and tarzan getting married after clayton learns and reveals the truth of tarzan's identity with his dying words.
