If one ever was brought to task for enacting violence on the normal citizens, no mater how random the violence or how involved in criminal enterprise the cop was, it would be the end of the institution both as a reward of position and as an arm of authority and terrorism. The affairs of political leaning and the dependencies of race hardly matter in the face of the police class.
