>>54808134how often do you see superchats in euros? yeah. remember like half of europe is ex-commieblock countries and if you count the UK maybe half the continent actually-speaks english (only like a third of france/italy/spain do, half of germany does etc). so the audience shouldn't be counted as like "dude it's like 700 million people cover is wasting a golden opportunity" - for english speakers it's roughly similar to US+Canada's scale.
So the numbers of English speakers between the continents are similar yet Europe gives way way way less money. Probably a lot of reasons go into it - some of them are ex commieblock aka too poor, but I think really it's because the US has a very strong (growing even) tipping culture and Europe not as much. So the idea of giving someone a tip for doing a good job and entertaining you for a couple hours is not as big there and that seems to really-show in the disproportionate income to Cover between the continents.
However it's kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy on Cover's part to write them off - most EUs would have a tough time watching current ENs live, unless they're neets/hikkis etc who are not known for being rich. people aren't gonna superchat VODs and if they physically-can't attend the livestreams they don't even really have a chance to. if there's an important stream it seems they make an event out of it to stay up / wake up at crazy hours to watch EN stuff, which I guess can be part of the fun for them, but for the average person working or in school that can't be sustained long-term.
