There isn't actually a Japanese word for "suspension". Which is normal when you translate words across different languages. You have to form a sentence to convey the thought "This person will have their activities stopped for a period of time". The word "suspension" doesn't formally exist in the vtuber industry period, from the very beginning, we, as EOP
TM laymen were using it informally to refer to the broad range of translations for the broad range of phrasings that Japanese companies were using to describe the punishment of being forced to take a break.
In otherwords, from their perspective, they never gave us any bullshit to start. It's actually much more accurate to translate their text to "stopped activities for awhile" than it is to say "suspended" because the Japanese sentence structure is different from English, and would translate directly into something like "Because of caution, we are stopping activities". The subject isn't automatically included in Japanese, so it assumes the talents in question due to their being the subject of a previous sentence.
Basically, the English sentence is a formally correct way to say they're suspended and there's no other possible way to read it even if you don't know the context of the Japanese, but it isn't how we'd normally phrase it in English in every day conversation. But Japanese staff wouldn't typically know how to use the informal English phrasings in the first place, so they went about it academically.
