Do you think a hologirl has moments where she feels bad about her job and their fans?
Knowing she has to lie for her fans, that thousands of them are in love, being fake idols, that she has a boyfriend behind their backs...
I would definitely feel bad about this line of work. It's like being an actor or singer except the streaming entertainment thrives off a parasocial connection 50% of the time.

Yeah, there are times when talents deliberately push away fans since they know the GFE isn't good for anyone. Tempus collabs are partly done to remind viewers that hololive talents are putting on a show.

Where do you think the Kronii or Ame yabs come from? It’s one thing to be a GFE chuuba and have fans expect you to maintain distance from males, it’s another to be have that expectation placed upon you despite not being interested in that type of content, simply because you’re a vtuber. I think theres plenty of vtubers that cater to the unicorn audience and I don’t know why everyone needs to cater to that audience specifically.

On my worst days I think none of them care about anything or anyone but the money. I feel like to even have to want to be an eceleb or a big streamer you have to be a narcissist or okay with taking money from parasocial losers who get more out of hearing you talk to chat than any entertainment value you have.

But there are so many girls in hololive. I bet some are like that, some really do care about their fans and worry about how the parasocial stuff can negatively affect them, and that most just see it as a job.
