For example, I know what a piano/guitar's E flat sounds like, so I can transcribe Mumei's doot doot apropos of nothing. But I don't know the pitch of a car tyre screeching, so I couldn't tell you what note it was. A person with perfect pitch can tell you what note the car tyre is.
However people have said since that perfect pitch is actually a sort of curse because you get too dependent on it and it fucks you up later since the ability degrades with age.
