From a financial standpoint, what makes you essential to a chuuba? You don't whale so you do not appear to be particularly able and willing to support her financially. You don't supa so you don't pay her streaming service. You don't member so you don't represent her main line of income. So what do you do?
You create a sense of community that makes paying people feel like they belong and give them plenty of opportunity for interaction. You also create a microtransaction incentive by being part of the grayname (nameless) mass that makes every member feel like they belong to something even better and exclusive, that gives every supa the opportunity to stand out to their oshi, that gives every gachikoi the sense that their support is worth several times the support you could potentially offer (pf course that's dumb, your oshi loves you for loving her, and she isn't here just because she needs to be financially sustainable, but true heartfelt love and admiration pay no bills).
None of these things would need to exist if a chuuba could live off and interact with 10 people alone. But the entire experience doesn't work with 10 people.
