>>55825760I think in Japan their canon work culture has always been for dudes to be 10000% subservient to anyone above them in rank and never correct them even if the superior is making clear mistakes. It's to save face for the superior basically to not call him out, and is a common thing in East Asian cultures really, and I don't mean like as an occasional bro favor deal I mean like it's the law of the land, like that time a South Korean airliner crashed because the copilot was too afraid to speak up and correct the plane captain. It's that strong a thing there.
So if some of the Western dudes were totally not used to this, and/or they see their relation with Cover staff as being like they're the stars and the staff are there to assist and pamper them? If they talked back to someone who wasn't their simp doormat office lady managers, like any Japanese dude upper in hierarchy, they'd be liable to walk into some serious shit for it because the Japanese work culture just would not tolerate a boss being argued with by a subordinate, like that only happens if the subordinate is ready to walk out on the spot. Supposedly in Japan actual-firings are rare but what they do is called 'power harassment' where they isolate you and give you nonsense non-work until you quit "voluntarily." In this case however Vesper/Magni seem to have an option of either just do nothing or quit if that's it.
