>>55807373A by no means exhaustive explanation of why I love Raki Kazuki
>DesignFirst, the superficial items. The initial thing that attracted me to Raki was her design. The cute witch outfit, the cute whiskers, the cute ears peeking out of the hat, I thought she was adorable. She became the Pixel girl I was most interested in watching.
>VoiceHer debut bewitched me. Shining through her nerves, she sounded so melodious and smooth, with just a hint of sultriness. Sometimes you discover streamers and instantly think “wow she sounds amazing, she would do some good ASMR with that voice”. Raki is definitely one like that. And her cute giggles melt my heart.
>MusicThe small cover she dropped in her first stream came as a complete surprise and caused me to kneel harder than I ever have from a debut. Subsequent songs and short cover releases showed what amazing talent she has. Her karaokes are so much fun. She can do metal, jazz, vocaloid, lullabies, basically anything she wants, and she sounds good in each. Her recent singing voice tweets have been absolutely sublime. I’ve actually teared up at how beautifully she can sing.
>Personality - I’ll break this down into parts because there is a lot>Caring for othersTo me, Raki feels like one of the most lovely and caring streamers I’ve ever encountered. It manifests itself in many ways. She adores her genmates, and can spend forever talking about them and elaborating on what she loves about them. When Chiaki was struggling in the DbD collab, Raki went out of her way to check on her and reassure her afterwards. When Miuna was sick and feeling really down, Raki went into her stream and presented a little PowerPoint in support of her (one of the cutest streams I’ve ever watched). And she gets along so well with Lottie and Nebi that they have always play together offstream and have their own unofficial “Neapolitan” unit
>Fan interactionI love how Raki is always searching for ways to involve her fans, and how excited she is to engage with her fanbase. Fan-submissions streams, playing games with us, creating music playlists for us, spending forever replying to our tweets on twitter, doing a ton of twitter spaces, doing guerilla streams… typed out, that’s even more than I thought. She demonstrates it through her actions. She makes fans feel loved and appreciated. It’s no surprise that she gets the most donos.
Raki is also very open to feedback and fan suggestions for stream ideas. Even though ASMR made her nervous at first, she wanted to try it out because she got a lot of requests for it.
And she’s always cognizant of wanting to interact with chat; she feels bad if she’s playing a game that requires focus, or participating in a collab that takes her away from reading comments.
>DemeanorStarting out, Raki felt like someone who didn’t have as much streaming experience as some of the other girls. She would get a little nervous and self-doubting if she didn’t know what to talk about. And she has a vulnerable side to her that she tries to hide. It makes her very easy to root for. Watching her learn and improve has been a pleasure. Raki unironically feels like the true idol experience. She is growing in confidence, and I want to be there to cheer her on for every step of her journey. She’s so loveable that I want to keep complimenting and praising her.
Recently, she’s partially pivoted from game streams to more zatsu/interactive streams, which is perfect for her personality. She dreams big, and has a lot of ideas and plans for the future. It’s exciting. I find myself swept up in her enthusiasm for both her channel and for PixelLink as a whole. She has a kernel of ambition too, she wants to grow and improve, and to put herself out there and talk to others and I really admire that.
Raki also genuinely feels like a nice human being. Bits and pieces gleaned from of her stories, and that I’ve noticed from watching her streams:
She would stand up for the new kids on her drum team against the older ones,
She could never be a ‘karen’ unless it was to back up someone she cared about,
She treats service workers kindly,
If she ever starts speaking poorly of others she usually corrects herself and apologizes,
She loves and supports her friends;
She’s a very positive person in general, and she tries hard to keep that energy up so that she doesn’t worry others.
