>>55881797As someone who watches a few vtubers that have talked positively about Mori before - btw mostly just short mentions how she's a "big inspiration" due to (how successful she is with) her music and "hard work", and it doesn't come up often anyway, just when prompted by chat and asked about their faves - they certainly don't mean "liking her" in the way it's used by gachikoi anons here who actually think they're in love with the vtuber and watch every stream of her and follow her religiously, drop thousands in donations or build a shrine to her. No it's mostly just the typical "superficial" female fandom type of "uh yeah I guess she's pretty neat or whatever" (dressed up in flowery female "ohmagawd I love her soooo much" lingo but it doesn't actually amount to much in the end), and don't bother looking into it further - certainly not down to the level that they'd know or care for the gripes >we here on 4ch have with some these vtubers, for example shitting on unicorn fans or whatever, that's at best not a problem for an average female viewer because she's not a unicorn herself, and at worst it's even a feature because its inspiring yaas kween slay girlboss energy. Similarly, an anon might have problems with how Mori brought in the ironic normie weeb crowd with TT and malecollabing, but her average female "fan" is much less likely to have an issue with it because at best she's just a liberal milquetoast "I don't see what the problem is, can't we all just get along uwu..." or at worst she's an ironic normie weeb herself and yeah no surprises that someone who is the sort of person that should be gatekept is against gatekeeping herself. You think her rap is cringe? Yeah it is, but that doesn't matter for the average female fan because she doesn't have much better taste herself. Mori can be an obnoxious autismo and brings negative entertainment value to many streams? Lol as if most of her female fans would actually watch every stream from start to finish to notice, in typical female fandom fashion they engage more by "stanning" on twitter and don't consume any content that's longer than a five minute clip.
So yeah, I can at least understand why other vtubers would mention Mori positively in bylines - from a simple superficial outside glance her "hard work" and success with music is very "inspiring" - which is especially more attractive when you're a music-focused vtuber yourself so she serves as some abstract role model / goal to aspire to. And all the other shit about her that can be pretty odious doesn't really register for those people in the first place, because they're actually not that deep of a "fan" that they'd ever come in to contact with it.
And hey, despite how dismissive that sounds, it's probably not the worst approach to enjoy vtubers, or at least maybe more enjoyable than getting too deep into the weeds tribalfagging over every minutiae on some mongolian basket weaving forum obsessing over some vtubers and hating everything they do and only being more miserable than if you just stopped caring.
