there's also a kind of melancholic romance/mysticalness to the fact that said kingdom of wild and strange creatures existed and flourished for so long - and then were just wiped out instantly in a single event and the world went on afterwards as if they never existed and became completely different after they were gone
Thinking about the fact that Dinosaurs existed and don't anymore is like a perfect microcosm and parable for the existential nature of life and the fact that nothing lasts forever
