I had a really bad concussion so I was in and out of school for the middle section of my senior year. Time was ticking down, I asked her to prom, and she said yes. We went on a school trip and had a great time together. I asked her on a date, got a "maybe" (obviously followed by a no a few hours later), and she started being pretty distant after that. Spent all of prom night ignoring me and dancing with a guy who I'd previously considered a good friend and started dating him right after.
