Ike's situation has a bit more nuance than just a guy being a male vtuber. The problem is that 3 out of 5 Luxiem members, in all their infinite wisdom, pandered very hard to a bunch of women in Asia that have English as their second language. That's assuming that they're that fluent, too.
They basically traded steady growth with a marketable image as entertainers in favor of whoring themselves out to a bunch of women that can barely understand them in the first place, but they just want them to pretend to be their white BFs.
And they're very protective, moreso than the average neckbear with his oshi. And because they never bothered to tardwrangle early on or even since, that's the fandom and now "culture" that they're left with.

I don't normally watch any of the guys on their own, but I've checked a stream every once in a while and it's always the saddest thing. Nothing but emote spam unrelated to anything going on and super simple affirmations like "VOX so cooool!!" and "Ikey Wikey looove". I'd be depressed as hell if I busted my ass only to have an audience I could not actually interact or engage with.
I feel a bit bad for them but not much actual sympathy, because it's all on them; they made the conscious decision to pander to that crowd and drag the rest of the branch down only so they could climb up.
