>premarital sex haversPremarital sex is in fact a huge sin. There is a reason we are forbidden from fornication before marriage it destroys the soul.
>But I say to you, that whosoever shall look on a woman to lust after her, hath already committed adultery with her in his heart.- Matthew 5:28
>But he that is an adulterer, for the folly of his heart shall destroy his own soul:- Proverbs 6:32
>Fly fornication. Every sin that a man doth, is without the body; but he that committeth fornication, sinneth against his own body.- 1 Corinthians 6:18
>For the price of a harlot is scarce one loaf: but the woman catcheth the precious soul of a man.- Proverbs 6:26
>For all that is in the world, is the concupiscence of the flesh, and the concupiscence of the eyes, and the pride of life, which is not of the Father, but is of the world.- 1 John 2:16
>Marriage honourable in all, and the bed undefiled. For fornicators and adulterers God will judge.- Hebrews 13:4
It is something we all should absolutely avoid. Being a virgin is the best thing you can be if you are unwed.
>For there are eunuchs, who were born so from their mother’s womb: and there are eunuchs, who were made so by men: and there are eunuchs, who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven. He that can take, let him take it.- Matthew 19:12
>There are three kinds of eunuchs, two carnal and the third spiritual. One group are those who are born this way. Another are those who are made into eunuchs by captivity or for pleasuring older women. The third are those who “have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven” and who become eunuchs for Christ though they could be whole men. The last group are promised the reward. The other two, for whom chastity is not a matter of willing but necessity, are due nothing at all. We can put it another way. There are eunuchs from birth who are of a rather frigid nature and not inclined to lust. There are others who are made eunuchs by men, those who are made so by philosophers, others who are made weak toward sex from their worship of idols, and still others who by heretical persuasion feign chastity so as to falsely claim the truth of religion. None of the above is receptive to the kingdom of heaven. Only the person who for Christ seeks chastity wholeheartedly and cuts off sexual impurity altogether [is the genuine eunuch]. So he adds, “He who is able to receive this, let him receive it,” so that each of us should look to his own strength as to whether he can carry out the commands of virginity and chastity. Chastity in itself is agreeable and alluring; but one must look to one’s strength so that “he who is able to receive this may receive it.” It is as if the Lord with his words were urging on his soldiers to the reward of chastity with these words: He who is able to receive this let him receive it; he who is able to fight, let him fight and conquer.- Jerome
However we are all sinners and God has given us the gift of the remittal of sins if we repent and go to confession. However this is not a free pass to sin only to have your sins remitted, so do not sin! Only Catholics
which includes Orthodox Christians can enter heaven, but no one impure can enter Heaven so you are not guaranteed entry into heaven solely by being Catholic, you must have the faith and the works. Sins make you impure which is why we try not to sin and it is recommended to go to confession often.
>and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.- Luke 24:47
>In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace- Ephesians 1:7
>And coming home, call together his friends and neighbours, saying to them: Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost?- Luke 15:6
>I say to you, that even so there shall be joy in heaven upon one sinner that doth penance, more than upon ninety-nine just who need not penance.- Luke 15:7
So to recap just because you sin does not mean you are barred from heaven, as we have the remittal of sins through penance available as well as the intercession of the saints above. But this is not an excuse to sin, so we refrain from sinning alltogether. Chastity good. Virginity good.(1/2)
