Question: I just started, played through stage mode about 3 or 4 times, and went for the gacha to get the characters I want. However, I've heard the best thing to do is focus on the upgrades first. What's the logical path for balancing using my coins for upgrades vs gacha? Thanks.

the bonuses from gacha cap at 20%/20grank.
just do upgrades first without concern for gacha. gacha early is because you want your favorite girl(s) and can't resist, the stats aren't that important.
the time you spend worrying about the order is misspent. soon you will want for reasons to play and because the game is too easy with no way of making it harder, you will feel bad you rushed this part.

Play stage 1 then stage 1 endless while picking up all the gold related items and spawn up
~1 hour later you'll have 200k gold minimum to do whatever with
~3 hours then you'll have all upgrades
Then quit when you realize no other character matters

What's the strat for getting more kills faster on Halu runs? I had like 15K more kills on my best run and I don't know what I did different.

Also, does anyone know if AO-chan works on Yagoo himself? I don't really see the kill counter rise with Ina when I get past 30m.

If you're on solo weapon run, then just pray for Super superchat and greed stamp so you scale infinitely in damage while sacrificing none of the survival items.
If you're not, then find the combination of collabs that give the most DPS.
Also Yagoo is considered as boss so AO will never affect him.

Very loosely paraphrasing, dev realised that the way he'd made collabs completely fucked the intended power curve. Instead of building up power at roughly the same rate as the enemies got harder to have realatively consistent difficulty, instead everyone rushed early collabs to spike way ahead of the enemies, which then allowed you to then snowball against underpowered enemies and stay ahead for pretty much the whole game. The intent was to bring collab power down a bit so you stay more in line with enemy scaling, and seemingly with the new super collabs replacing them as the aimed for power boost but as they're level locked and capped at one per run you can't rush them as easily.
I'd say it seems to have worked out pretty well, but I've admittedly spent way more time fishing rather than playing around with the nerfed collabs to really judge

it did.. slow the curve by 5~ minutes, but it didn't fix the problem. the super collabs are so overpowered people still feel compelled to rush them, and because they're realistically gated by hitting level 50, it means people now feel compelled to take the exp items. so now people are still rushing the OP collabs (supers) but there's also less build diversity.

I'd say one issue is also that the exp glasses were also buffed for some reason. You basically want it early because it's pointless to get it late in a run.

What I would do if I was just picking the game up is play one round as each Myth member, buying upgrades in the shop each time, then gacha for my favorite girl and play her a few times, then focus mainly on the shop until upgrades get really expensive. You can always refund shop upgrades, but once you spend it on gacha it's gone. Try to get the greed stamp every time, it generates dozens of thousands of coins, even on characters who are poorly suited. Irys, Risu, and Reine are all extraordinarily strong coin farmers, but the main grind in this game is fandom, so you don't need to brute force coins if you don't want to.

What's the one healing/defensive I should pick up every run, assuming I'm not using a character with built-in healing skill? I keep getting my shit pushed in because I keep going hard on Glass Cannon.
Thinking Nurse's Horn, Chicken Feather, or Uber Sheep so it can be eaten in a Super Collab.

The Yagoos around 41 minutes start chunking you for about 180-200 a hit even with damage reduction. Shit is painful. Plus certain items are sort of awkward to use on her because of the revive. I remember Plush being bugged on her because she'd just die through the revive if she equipped plush, dunno if that changed. Besides that, bandage and plush also make it annoying to time the revive because you might accidentally outlast it with a bit of HP left and die afterwards anyways.

How exactly does the Researcher's Coat work? I've been looking all over, but I can't find any information beyond the in-game description. Nothing on the wiki, nothing in past threads, even checked reddit to no avail.
Description - "Gain 1% EXP every 2 seconds. When HP is full, the EXP rate slowly increases to 2/3/4%, and is reset to 1% EXP when taking damage."

Is this an eternally stacking modifier that continuously improves your EXP gain rate, or is it an interest-like bonus granting you a % of your total EXP to date every two seconds? The former seems more likely given the game's mechanics, but on first reading it I thought the latter. Former also seems like it'd be obscenely overpowered, as you could easily get an EXP modifier in the thousands. There's no indication anywhere of what benefits the item is currently giving. And if it is a stacking modifier, does getting hit only reset the rate of gain or the entire modifier? On that note, just how long does it take to ramp up?

WAR - gain passive experience. 1% per second passive experience, so every one second you gain 1% of your current level. If your health is full the bonuses rises over x seconds up to 4%, and then remains 4% free exp per second until you get hit, which drops it back down to 1%. have not tested, but it wouldn't be hard, just go solo stamp with someone with a narrow attack and no damage skills and avoid killing anyone, then watch if your exp climbs as expected.

Well, you get 4% every 2 seconds, so 2% for every 1. You get a level every 50 seconds. In the most optimal conditions, you get 30 extra levels in 25 minutes. In the worst case scenario, you get a level every 200 seconds. Let's say you get in-between that value, which would be maybe an extra 15 levels across 25 minutes. I'm using 25 minutes as a benchmark because let's be real, once you start fighting the Yagoos you're not going to get that 4% very often afterwards.

Lightning wiener sucks with low projectile count and they only home in to something to deal single target damage afterward.
Shuba wiener is like BL Fujoshi but has no range and it's useless if you just want to not move. Damage isn't bad though.
Crescent Bardiche is if you want to be Suisei without playing as her. You're probably better off making Dragon Fire or Bone Bros if you want to delete something in a direction.
Curse Ball is a meme, you gonna die fast if you focus too much on kicking it repeatedly.

I did it with Sana on Endless GP(Day). Jingisukan gets you +100, Piki Piman gets you +25, Just Bandage gets you +30. After that it was just filling slots and praying to RNG to get +10% max health bonuses; I ended up hitting 525 HP right before Yagoos.

You consistently get two stat up options on level up when you can't get any more weapons/items/skills. You can make that happen far sooner with limits in the shop. Max out the weapon limit in the shop so you can't get weapons, and use a partial item limit so you can only get a couple. Rerolls help. Play Kiara on endless 1. Get glasses for sure, and maybe lab coat, bandage, and/or piki piki piman.

On one hand, I got two supers. On the other, after the feather I went for Halu and the feather never triggered. I didn't realize I went in with weapons limited to 2 (for cheesing the 500hp achievement), and that might have made it easier rather than harder. Kaela is really good once she gets going and then jingisukan is probably the best.

for items there is breastplate its 25% damage reduction and 1 speed lvlup almost negates the downside completely, you can remove it in levelup screen after taking it too since upgrading it only increases %chance to reflect damage
i was told sausage+BL collab is good for yagoos but haven't tested it yet

if the map loops like stage 1 and 2 you want fuckton of movespeed then just keep running either left or right

Subaru is weird because she's functional and not very hard to win with, but only because she has one overpowered skill, which is probably to balance out her bad skills and bad weapon but it's a weird design choice. Shion's skills are all useless with exception of her one skill which is evade ONE attack then gives + 60% attack. Her Special is just Ayame's skill which is invul for 3 seconds then deals 1000% damage. Aqua's normal is very garbage and her skills are subpar, same with her Special.

I don't know if this is common knowledge, but there is no reason for you not to pick the Wamy super collab if you're playing a crit character due to a bug.

After collabing, the game keeps the buff you had with the regular Sake item, so you end up with 20%+[Sake stacks]% buff. I got 20%+19% with Reine just now.

Subaru destroys this challenge, and I even managed to complete it on Hard 3. Takes a little bit of starting RNG for the breastplate but it was smooth sailing from there on out.

Should be a cakewalk for the easier stages.

Which collab item is worth getting and which generics make them?
I tried the axe + bible combo but it feels like it does completely shit damage compared to when they're separate and not only that, on maps where enemies start doing danmaku shit it actually obfuscates their attacks and makes things worse.

I don't know about you anon. I always had fun playing her. I used her portals vertically where their aoe almost coincide. Once she put her 1 portal, I'll go down and wait for her to put another portal, then I'll just teleport to another portal and wait for her to put portal again and repeat. You can basically move minimal for portals and the her book will just collect exp. I use the portals left and right when there's a miniboss to troll it. I don't mind if there are mobs because she has a dodge skill

it's complete shit because it's balanced around the flashlight mode while she's invisible, but when you use the special everything stands still and doesn't clump up so you get maybe 2 shots off on big groups and then the screen's empty, and as soon as special ends you get swarmed again

I expect jingisukan to get rebalanced, it seems to be far and away the most useful super collab right now, and also basically obsoletes every other healing item since it does good damage and doesn't (permanently) eat up an item slot. The others are great but I think it's clearly ahead - and that's before characters with healing/damage-taken based gimmicks.
