Playing solo means you get to take things at your own pace, you get to read and think deeply without inconveniencing orhers, and you can plan things the way you want.
On the flip side, a group setting can make for a much more carefree but fun, thrilling playthrough. Doing dumb shit, having different views and coming together as a unit to see what happens if you make choices you might not do otherwise can make for fun memories. I played divinity 2 as both solo and as duo and it was fun both ways
