There's loads of valid reasons to support external embeds because businesses sometimes use it and embed through their websites and the like.
Normalizing this as a public facing metric would be a Good Thing for everyone, even for vtubers because it could give them some reason to focus on trying to get more people to open the chats if they are watching on embeds. (like doing polls with the chat)
Of course, chats in general are retarded and once you go beyond a couple thousand viewers basically every single chat goes to shit no matter how well behaved the community.
Most major websites profit off of spammy chats, so they have no incentive to even bother trying to "fix" this side of streaming, despite it being extremely easy.
