>>56467341Everyone is dying. Many people live productive almost normal lives with her condition. Everyone takes things differently and there are different degrees across many possible variations in circumstances. Other people internalize being sick, so that being sick becomes part of their identity, and it remains even when their symptoms subside and they're no longer sick. Then you have content creators that were sick, and had a reputation for being sick, but at some point got better. They still have pressure to maintain their image of being sick, in a way that is more than just tricking the audience, but it's more like a compulsion. One case was a streamer that had some temporary paralysis in his lower body after an accident from which he recovered years later, but continued to stream in his wheelchair until one day he was "found out."
In the end it's not some evil trick, but there are many factors that will lead to persistent exaggerations at the same time that she belts out notes in ways that make healthy people jealous. There are plenty of people with her exact condition, or worse, with worse symptoms, and they get on with life. There are also people with other conditions that people don't consider to be as serious but can have a more serious impact on their life, yet exceptions and considerations are not made for them. It's a messed up situation but it's less Ironmouse's fault than it is her audience that mythologizes it.
