It was okay. Could have been so much better. There were a small handful of entertaining moments. A few problems with bugs because the game is full of them and it's only worse in multiplayer. The complete lack/fear of communication really held things back though. Mori and Bijou have already played at least Act 1 so they already know what to do, where to go, which NPCs are possible encounters, etc and they exploited this meta knowledge hard. For example the encounter with the owlbear is typically very dangerous because it can easily kill a player in a single turn but Bijou took out 2/3 of its health and positioned herself to get advantage as the encounter opening. This completely trivialized it and they dropped what was supposed to be a sort of mini-boss encounter in two turns.
Mori seemed a bit too vocal. She was talking a lot and most of it was pretty spoilery. Hey, this guy is a vampire. No, there is absolutely no pressure to progress quickly even though the whole brain worm narrative makes it seem like you're on a timer. Let's not go that way, let's go over here instead because those enemies are dangerous. The sort of things you really shouldn't be saying with two newcomers who are trying to get immersed in an extremely narrative-heavy exploration RPG.
Bijou was being a troll and a loot goblin. This largely wasn't an issue(for example she used an AoE in the first few minutes to attack her companions but she only did it because she knew there were healing pods throughout the tutorial and threw bottles at people to deal 1 damage) but Kiara and Nerissa don't understand that inventories are effectively shared. By default you can see everything your allies have and even take stuff out of their inventories if you need it. It doesn't really matter if someone is being a loot goblin so long as the loot is actually being split up appropriately but Kiara/Nerissa(primarily Kiara) were sort of put off by this because they don't understand that you're supposed to grab a bunch of shit and share loot/pool gold when it's needed. It's not like loot is BoP. The loot goblinism also spurred Mori into trying to compete which only made Kiara/Nerissa more distraught over not getting anything. She was also a bit of a murder hobo and got the party into trouble a few times due to constantly trying to steal without having the stats/proficiencies to be a good thief.
Kiara/Nerissa were basically in the same boat. They were both learning the controls and basic game mechanics. They wanted to focus on exploring the world but they felt rushed by Mori/Bijou rushing ahead. They both enjoyed the game for the most part but did not enjoy the feeling of being dragged along. Neither were allowed much initiative because Mori/Bijou were constantly directing the group from point to point. This lead to Nerissa silently running off on her own at one point which clearly showed how tired she was of it. Neither of them aired their concerns which is a problem. They need to communicate with Mori and Bijou, not just each other.
