A couple others also have sizable youtube channels they could use to build a streaming audience if they weren't retarded.

On the other hand there's 2 ways to make it as a male vtuber rn, either you pander extra hard to fujos and the likes and go hardcore BFE or you're a brotuber and you're competing with all the male fleshtubers as well.
Joining either Holo or Niji as a male is way more of a fucking huge deal than joining holo as a female. Magni had shit ccv on his RM before holo, only his YT channel was somewhat big but ultimately pretty niche and prob didn't even make that much given the upload frequency and the topics of the vids. Only reason he's been pulling more viewers is because he's been slowly transfering his audience over the course of the last year or so.
Vesper I don't even need to talk about, he wasn't big at all before holo and only had his stream and some yt vod channel.
If anything they were the ones with no chance outside of holo, Vesper likely never would have been anything but a low 3 view and the same for magni since even with a fairly successful yt channel full of what is essentially vids recorded on stream he could apparently not transfer that to twitch.
