While not directly paperwork, there's likely a lot of corporate backends that the talents need to do or be present for. Signing merch, designing merch, meetings with sponsors, negotiating commissions, staff meetings, company-mandated work like official channel stuff, and yes - signing contracts - are all red tape that the talents themselves have to handle or be present for.
The actual paperwork is probably mostly handled by the manager.
