sometimes the fujobait model backfires much like coomerbait models do. there are so many vtubers i will never watch because their models are either hilariously coomer or just too extra for my taste. also none of stars actually do bfe. flayon is REALLY nice and caring to his audience but not in a bfe kinda way. the have their gap moe moment once a blue moon (like bettels refusal to say love unless for special occassions) but they feel like cringe ass bros most of the time. also i kind of hate how fujobait and yumebait have been merged together by ignorant people. nijiEN, primarily LUXIEM thrived because of yumebaiting, not fujo. vox was sky high because of his bfe asmrs, dates, voices, etc. not because of trying to act gay with another member.

Viewership is pretty erratic isn't it? Which makes me think they use bots. Because there is no way the dude makes several streams back to back with 500k views on vods and then suddenly drops to 50k for absolutely no reason. Not to mention that considering the insane amount of views the NijiHomos get, way more than Hololive girls, yet their stock is constantly crashing. Something here smells fishy.

I think their interaction with female members makes them more popular at the expense of the female members. You pretty much have to sacrifice your female livers by turning them into accessories to be used by the male members. Women find men that interact with other women more attractive after all so it better captures the fujo market.

It's just brand power shit. Nijisanji has a lot of fans, most of these have their oshi that they will watch all the time, but they will also somewhat keep up with what is going on in the rest of the company, so if you manage to do something attention grabbing and/or memey like the OP stream you can capture a much larger audience than your norm for those streams quite easily, or if you get involved in some company wide event, or host a collaboration with a lot of other members in it on your channel and so on you can draw much higher viewership numbers than your norm.

For the first year or so they were the runts, so they collab'd with anyone and everyone, including bilibili, twitch, and that one other streaming site Pekora gang came from. After a while Yagoo decided to dial back and make it more idol-esque, but there were many a male/female collab up until then

When Mito gained popularity he once said that she's devouring the four heavenly kings of vtubing, which offended the vtubing community back then as a whole, because they already didn't like NIjisanji taking over. (doing streams while using a live2d model, how lazy is that!? kek)
He then had a minor yab about every year (probably because Japanese with autism hated everything he did anyway) and also he is not very entertaining (to gain views despite being hated by everyone).
However, this guy - despite all the hate and shitty numbers - is still streaming regularly and is very dedicated. There is no negativity going on between him and the JK gumi or the other first wavers.
So despite all the hate, I cannot bring myself to dislike this guy, even if I don't watch him.

however, interactions between guys and girls in niji jp specifically (NOT niji en) often tend to give more of a friendly/professional vibe, rather than shippy, so most jp males who have relevant fujo ships will put some distance between them and girls they interact with by default.
