They wouldn’t have gotten as far if they were in Niji. Holo’s talents are hard carried by their brand name with the exception of a few. Meanwhile Niji brand means next to nothing nowadays since there are plenty of indies and smaller companies doing better than their talents.

Why would Nijisanji regret anything like this when it's Anycolor's decision whether to give them a 3D live or not? There's nothing to regret because they simply don't give a fuck. They announced a 3D live they could not possibly pull off to wow potential investors and pulled the rug out from everyone. They never actually cared. They don't see something like this and think "Wow I'm soooo sad that I didn't pick Mumei and Irys, look at her dance and sing on stage" they think "wow what a fucking waste of money that we could be funnelling directly to our JP branch"

I don't think Nijisanji really cares that much who they get in the door. So much of the risk of joining is placed on the shoulders of the talent anyway, like having to pay for their own debut.
They walk in to be milked dry until they either break out a huge success and maybe get a little bit of support and attention or they duke it out with the other low 4view/3views for scraps until eventually quitting.
Anycolor is a Vtuber battle royale where the stakes are set up so they'll continue to print money.
