So the guy writing the blog joined late and is trying to turn it into a semi-competent corporate tech project with things like a proper way to publish new code and making it easy to look at important performance data like if the most common/important actions are working at a vaguely decent level. Now he's working on fixing the worst bits of the shit optimization.
tl;dr Holoplus was underfunded and pushed into too big a beta too early but it gave management a wakeup call and the guy who wrote the blog post has half a clue about what he's doing so it'll probably get fixed.
