They are trying to represent devil in dev and saying their is a devil in these divas. Another theory is they are using the hindu term of deva which means "shiny", "exalted", "heavenly being", "divine being", "anything of excellence." The feminine equivalent for deva is devi. And an s at the end of that and you get the same unit thing. Just a fancy corruption of the word.
